Electronic Communication Services Invoice (NFCom, model 62): simplifying issuance and fiscal control

The National Council of Fiscal Policy – CONFAZ and the Special Secretariat of the Federal Revenue of Brazil have established the Electronic Communication Services Invoice (NFCom, model 62) and the Auxiliary Document of the Electronic Communication Services Invoice (DANFE-COM) through Adjustment Sinief No. 7/22, published in the Official Gazette of April 12, 2022. The project also involves the National Telecommunications Agency (ANATEL) and the State Departments of Finance (SEFAZ).

This new model of electronic document is an option to replace models 21 – Communication Service Invoice and 22 – Telecommunication Service Invoice. Its aim is to standardize the information of these types of documents and facilitate their issuance, consultation, and acquisition, using the same functionalities as the electronic invoice for goods (NF-e) and transportation knowledge (CT-e).

Deadlines

According to the Guidelines Manual for the Taxpayer (MoC) – Overview – v1.00a:

Testing Environment – available since 04/23 Production Environment – scheduled for implementation in 05/23

According to Annex I of the MoC – Layout and Validation Rules:

Testing Environment – available since 04/23 Production Environment – scheduled for implementation in 06/23 ICMS taxpayers are required to use NFCom as of July 1, 2024.
